& Organising Meeting Secretariat

Dear colleagues,

Due to the health and administrative risks associated with the current global spread of the Covid-19 disease, and due to strict emergency measures taken by the Czech government, effective until further notice, the IAS and local organizers decided to postpone the 35th IAS Meeting of Sedimentology scheduled for June 23–25, 2020, in Prague, Czechia.

IAS and the organizing committee jointly decided to reschedule the Prague Meeting for a future date, most likely in 2021. Details of the rescheduling, including information about the program, refunds and date of the postponed meeting will be announced as soon as possible through the conference website, IAS website and in social media.

The health, safety and well-being of all conference participants – delegates, organizers, staff, exhibitors, guests – are our priority. We are sorry for any inconvenience resulting from the current situation, and we would like to thank all people involved in the conference organization for their efforts. We are convinced that rescheduling of the IAS Meeting in Prague for a later date is the best solution how to reduce any adverse outcomes stemming from the current situation.

Please stay tuned and we will circulate more detailed information as soon as possible.

We are most honoured to invite you to the 35th International Meeting of Sedimentology supported by the International Association of Sedimentologists. After the postponement due to the pandemic crisis, we are glad to announce the new dates of the meeting, which will be held in Prague, Czech Republic, on 22rd – 24th June 2021. Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, belongs to the world’s most admired jewels of historical urban architecture. A benefit for geologists is the unique Prague geology, which encompasses numerous, well exposed outcrops of various ages through Earth history making it a logical choice for an international sedimentary geology meeting. Enjoy the magic of this beautiful historical city and share your research ideas in the global community of sedimentary geologists. Except Prague, there is much more to discover. On a relatively small territory of the Czech Republic, you can admire very diverse geology, historical and cultural heritage.

See you in Prague!
